My new sewing machine

I got a new sewing machine for my birthday this year from my wonderful in-laws.

As you may have noticed in a previous post, I made my first dress EVER with the help of Mom K for my Halloween costume as Fantastic Mrs. Fox. I haven't sewn anything since junior high home economics class (it's been years!) so this was a big deal. Mom K is an excellent seamstress, plus an amazing and patient teacher.

However, when I first got my sewing machine in the spring, I was swamped at work and other responsibilities in the evenings, so I didn't touch my machine till October.

But guess who was itching to open it up and start sewing?

Yup, it was Lee!

He was the first one who opened up the sewing machine and read the instructions. He was the first one who filled the bobbin and threaded the machine. He was the first one who really wanted to tailor his "fat man" shirts so they were more slim fit on him.

Lee even figured out how to use the button hole maker attachment!

Gosh, I love how adventurous he is.
