A few of you have asked us how we enjoyed our trip to the
Ice Castles in Midway, Utah over New Year's, because we
posted a picture on our blog that day.
We have a confession--we were poor party planners and didn't actually go inside the ice castle. Instead, we decided to walk around the perimeter and take pictures of the changing lighting before we had to take off for a party.
We probably missed out on all the cool stuff inside, but what we saw was spectacular.

The lighting was constantly changing.

This wall of ice reminded me of jellyfish for some reason.

Looks like this is underwater and not frozen! |
I especially appreciated the clear skies (we've been suffering from some serious inversion in the valley) and the view of the stars. It was breathtaking!

We can see the stars! |
Has anyone gone through yet? We may have to make another less-hurried trip back to Midway soon.
It was even better inside. They had ice tunnels to walk through. It was pretty cool.
